While in middle school nearly 75% of girls are interested in pursuing careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). This percentage dramatically drops over the years, and after high school less than 1% of girls choose to study Computer Science. Why is this an issue? Because as more and more of our lives are transformed by technology few women are represented in making this technology happen. Google wants to connect with these girls to inspire them to pursue their passion, and the girl’s unique contributions will also benefit the future of coding and computer science. Google has partnered with Cartoon Network to inspire these girls to pursue passions of science and technology, and we are so happy that we get to be a part of this process!
